Last night, we watched an old Matt Damon “Bourne” movie with endless car chases and police sirens. Dizzying.

Afterwards, we went straight to bed to read. We opened the bedroom window, and immediately it sounded like the movie hadn’t ended. We heard sirens, then a loud bang, and I said to Di, “that was a car crash!”

Shortly after, we heard a helicopter hovering above and more sirens than we’ve ever heard living in Vancouver. After a while, curiosity got the better of me. I had to get out and see what happened.

True enough. The Bourne movie continued in our backyard, with a police chase that ended in a crash. They caught one guy right away, while the other tried to escape but was later captured nearby.

After a short while, the West End was quiet again, and sleep came surprisingly quickly despite the unrest in the hood.
