I am not what you’d call a birder or wildlife photographer, but maybe one day that will change.
Today, I had a fun experience near Lost Lagoon in Stanley Park. In a small pathway leading back to our apartment in the West End, I was suddenly surrounded by what felt like hundreds of small birds who didn’t mind coming very close to me, sitting in the trees.
I later found out people feed the birds in this spot, which may explain the sheer number and willingness to get close to humans.
I captured the photo today with a 50mm lens and cropped it significantly. Anyone who knows a thing or two about wildlife photography would know that you usually wouldn’t have the words, small birds, and a 50mm in the same sentence :)
